Christmas Stars Share Their 2024 Goals
With 2023 nearly wrapped up and 2024 on the horizon, we asked some of the world’s most famous Christmas characters to share their goals for 2024. Here is what they told us made their list for the next year.
Clarence, the Angel: I’m targeting the next angel level: Angel First Class, Exceptional. Not many angels achieve that level. I’ve been at this for about 370 years (never too late to improve, I say) and I only need to help five more people realize their purpose to achieve my goal.
Cindy Lou Who: My goal is to raise enough money to decorate the town even better for next Christmas. So I’m organizing fundraisers throughout the year—you know, zuzita karzay games, a dancing fest with jing tinglers on our heels, and bambolazoo gardinkers contests. I’m pretty good at organizing, so I’m excited for that. And for what the town will look like.
Clark Griswold: My goal is a staycation with the family. Just my family. Just my immediate family. In the pool. Did I say just my family?
The Snow Miser: I want to build my relationship with my brother, the Heat Miser. We’ve been distant for many years, but I want to improve that. So I’m planning to call him once a month and also have a family reunion in July at mom’s place.
The Heat Miser: Who is this? Stop bothering me. Did my dumb brother put you up to this?
George Bailey: My goal is to travel. OK, that’s been one for a while. But it’s different now—I want my family with me. I’m planning two trips with the family this year. I want to ensure that my family knows how important they are to me and this is one way to do that. I also have a goal to read more—at least one book a month. Looking for recommendations. Any ideas? Something in the style of Mark Twain.
The Winter Warlock: I’m planning on a tour; a magic tour. So I need to practice some new tricks—since I lost my wizard powers, I need to rely on other strengths. My goal is to learn twelve new snow-related tricks by September in preparation for my tour.
Frosty the Snowman: I don't want to melt. Sounds easy. But let me tell you how challenging that is in July.
The Grinch: I’m going to become a certified executive coach. My training starts next month. You know anyone who could benefit from a grinch-turned-coach?
The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree: I’ve always considered myself resilient. But that time Charlie Brown put the ornament on my branch…well, that was discouraging. So this year my goal is to give myself a bit more grace when I fail and make a note (actually write it down) about what is good and strong about me. And I also plan to work out twice a week and eat a bit better—you know, to strengthen those branches.
Yukon Cornelius: I’m starting a tree-topping company as a side hustle with my partner, the Abominable Snowman. We’re calling it “Bumble’s Toppers.” We have a goal to grow this to ten states by the end of the year, including three southern ones.
Abominable Snowman: I plan to adjust my sometimes scary response to new situations. I’ve been told I look scary, but that’s not how I want to appear. So I’m working on more calm and soothing expressions; and smiling more. Oh, I also have to not fall off any cliffs this year.
Papa Elf: I’m taking classes to learn to draw. I want to illustrate my son Buddy’s next book.
Buddy the Elf: Hug one person everyday. Because everyone needs a hug. Oh, and I’m writing a book about hugs. And candy.
Burgermeister Meisterburger: After losing my job due to that Kris Kringle incident, I’m investing in myself next year. I plan to enroll in the local community college and take a couple courses on entrepreneurship. I plan to start my own business by the end of the year. Maybe a glockenspiel repair company.
Rudolph: Golf. I’m taking up golf. I wanted to spend more time with Clarice and since she loves golf I thought I’d at least give it a shot.
Thanks for sharing, everyone! What a fabulous list. It’s clear: no matter what you have accomplished there’s always a chance to grow and make an impact on others. Any goal is worthwhile if it takes you where your purpose is fulfilled. So what are your plans for 2024?
